Cos is a renowned winery located in the heart of Sicily, Italy. Founded in 1980 by three friends, Giambattista Cilia, Giusto Occhipinti and Cirino Strano, Cos is dedicated to producing high-quality wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region. Giusto Occhipinti, one of the founders, is the winemaker and driving force behind the winery's success, and is known for his innovative approach to winemaking.

One of Cos's most famous wines is the Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG Classico, a red wine made from a blend of Nero d'Avola and Frappato grapes. This wine is produced using traditional methods, with the grapes being hand-harvested and fermented in large oak barrels. The wine is then aged in oak barrels for a minimum of 18 months before being bottled, resulting in a wine that is rich and complex, with aromas of red fruit, spices and herbs. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and well-structured, with a long, lingering finish.

Cos is also known for its other wines, including the Pithos Bianco, a white wine made from the indigenous grape variety Grecanico. This wine is fermented and aged in clay amphorae, which gives it a unique flavour and texture.

Overall, Cos is a winery that is dedicated to producing high-quality wines that reflect the unique terroir of Sicily. With its innovative approach to winemaking and commitment to tradition, it is no wonder that Cos is considered one of the top wineries in Italy.
